Summary and Suggestions
- Purposes of practicum
The purpose of the practicum is to prepare student teacher to be a good teacher in future and in reallife, also gave experience to teach in another country. From this program, the student teacher can improve their English speaking skill in teaching in the class and in socialiszation to peoples. The practice teacher could build the relationship and have a new family in the other country, then improve knowledge about culture of another country and to respecting other country cultures.
- Procedures of practicum
During the teaching practive,I was accompany by my cooperative teacher, Prof. Eivan Mark Sigua S. The practicum procedures, start with the university welcoming us in Monday flag ceremony, and continue with classroom observation in the first week. Then, teaching assit and teaching practice in the second and third week. Next, in fourth or last week is evaluation from cooperative teacher to practice teacher.
- Outcomes of practicum
Practice teacher improved the english speaking, also got much new vocabulary, teaching in english language skill was improved, and got much new knowledge (cause I was teach subject that not related to my major), also get local knowledge that could ne used in my own country.
- The challenges of practicum
The hardest callange in this program of teaching two subjects that not related to my major. My major is chemistry, and in this program I have to teach physical science and general science. I got many things that I’ve never know before. I was stay up all night to prepare my self to teach tomorrow. But this is going to be my lovely experience.
Another challenge was my english skill was not really fluent, sometimes if the student answer my question the student said some word that I dont understand, but I still can got he or she point.
- Overall impression
overall my impression in this project was nice, I got many new experience, that the peoples were very greetings, the students were very respect, I got new family. it was easy to got friends. This PSAU was a huge university, that to went to one building to another building we had to walk far, but it had a special place for people who walk. Then, the high school’s teachers were had higher level (teachers already a professor or doctor). And also every people there could speak english.
- Suggestions for future improvement
my suggestion was for the university so inform kind of subject to teach and its matter to make the practice teacher more ready to teach and prepare good method in teaching.
And also,if it possible, my suggestion for this program to be also work with another country such as from countries from europe.
Teaching Practice
- Procedures of teaching
First of all I stand quited in front of the class, this was my way to make students silent and pay attention, then I ask “are you ready?”. I started my class by greeting the students (good morning, good afternoon), and ask their conditions then checked the attendance.
Review the previous lesson, then gave the quiz.
Introduction by explained the lesson objective and Introduce the following list of important terms that learners will encounter
Gave motivation with game, and gave not true theory to stimulate learners to think critically in order to point out holes in the theory.
Delivery, explained the lesson by slide presentation. Ask students about their opinion about the lesson, to know how far the students understand about the lesson. And did the discussion.
Always make sure that the students understand about the topic, if there was no question, Gave the a game related to the today’s lesson, to remaind them, to make sure that the lesson is understand clearly.
Close the learning, and ask the student about the next meeting topic.
- Time management and organizing activities
In PSAU laboratory school, 1 lesson time is 60 minutes. General biology and physical science have 120 minutes every meeting, and in a week its has 2 times meeting. By lesson plan, its make teaching easier, cause its consist of how many times to do every activities.
- Problem-solving
My first teaching, I done the delivery or explain the lesson so fast, so in many minutes, we do nothing, but at that time my cooperative teacher help me to hendle the class. This problem was solved by always asking student about the lesson, not to be teacher centred and the next meeting I was able to hendle the class in 120 minutes and also gave some fun games, cause the student love to play the game.
- Classroom management
I was teach three class, it was grade 11 STEM that consist of 34 students, grade 12 AgriFish B that consist of 39 students and grade 12 Home Economics that consist of 37 students. This number of student is kind of crowded class I think.
When delivery the topic, I arrenged them in to two groups, the right and left group. While the discussion, I sometimes make the in to agree and disagree grub, so that the discussion is more fun. the student is active at all, if I ask, many of them rise hand, and I choose the one who rise hand first. Then, if the answer was not really clear I gave another student to answer.
I also gave big apreciate to every students that already give an opinion, even if its not really clear, I ask class to gave them clap hands, or said “good”, “very good” or “nice” to teh students.
I did always save time in the end of the lesson to play a game, cause the student really like to play a game.
Teaching Plan
⦁ Curriculum
As already explain above that Pampanga State Agricultural University-Laboratory School uses K-12 Curriculum. The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS]) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Here in phipippines the teaching plan is based on teacher guide, that provides detailed lesson plan, that start with introduction, motivation, instruction/delivery that the teacher give explanation about the lesson, practice, enrichment, and evaluation.

Pedagogical Contents
⦁ Teaching methods
The teacher start class by checking attendance of the students, then give quiz about previous lesson.
The lesson start with giving introduction about matter, show students the learning objectives, and introduce the following list important terms that learner encounter.
The second is review, the teacher review the previous lesson that has connection with today’s lesson.

and than instruction, the teacher giving information or explain about the lesson by using slide show, and give chance to the students to ask if they had something that they didn’t understand.
after the discussion, teacher give practice such as ask student to make concept map about lesson that already tought.
⦁ Learning materials and innovation
Teacher explain the lesson based on syllabus and curriculumguide of K to 12. For the materials, tecaher use smart tv that connect to handphone, slide presentation, video, picture and etc. For innovation, teacher mostly use direct instruction method and discussion.
⦁ Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers
teacher’s learning sources are book and internet, then technology is smart tv that connect to teacher’s mobile phone and show slide presentation.
⦁ Authentic assessment used by the teachers
Teacher’s authentic assesment are performance assessment, written homework, journal, portfolio, group/individual projects, student-directed research project and answer the teacher’s question.

The university occupies approximately 500 hectares of government agricultural lands in the town of Magalang, province of Pampanga.
At present, this state agricultural institution is viewed as a university with a heart for HUManity, Agriculture, Nature and Entrepreneurship (HUMANE) Development. It stands out among the other public and private academic institutions in the province and in Central Luzon. The university envisions itself to be a center of excellence for development and a premier university of science, arts and technology in agroecological, environmental and industrial management under a culture of unity and teamwork for excellence.
The university is composed of six colleges which are the College of Agricultural Systems and Technology, the College of Resource Engineering, Automation and Mechanization, the College of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and the College of Hospitality, Entrepreneurship and Food Sciences. The university offers a total of 20 undergraduate courses (both allied and non-allied courses), 2-year computer courses, and operates a graduate school for three masteral and two doctoral degrees. The College has existing partnership with ICRISAT in India in terms of research and extension activities aimed at enhancing agricultural development in rainfed cropping areas.
The Institute’s programs reflect certain basic assumptions about teacher education. One assumption is that improving educational policy and practice is a complex matter, requiring multiple disciplines and many angles of vision. Another is that it is impossible to ignore the social context of schooling and, in particular, the multicultural dimensions of Philippine society. The Institute sees education teachers as one vital path to a more just and democratic society. Still another assumption is the need to learn from the experiences of other societies across a planet that is becoming more interdependent every day.
Teacher Education works at local, national, and international levels to create a vision of learning communities for children and teachers everywhere. These values of learning community form the core of Institute.
